We may be slowly coming out the other side of lockdown but everyone will have to wear a face covering in shops from July 24 as well as on public transport and you could be hit with a £100 fine if you ignore the new rules.

The cheapest option is of course to make your own, but if you’re not very nifty with a sewing machine or just fancy supporting a local business, check out these designers who are making some lovely masks from scratch that all the family will love.

Bristol hat maker Ani Stafford-Townsend has been focussing on making face masks since the beginning of the pandemic and is selling her creations for £3 to key workers and £6 to everyone else via her Facebook page. Also, Masks by Jules start at just £3 with 50p from every mask sold going to the Southmead Covid Appeal.

Bella Miele is making face masks for just £5 and is giving £1 to the NHS for every mask sold. She has some really cool designs as well as you can see from the picture below.

The Crystal Trailer is a local designer who is selling bespoke face masks from £8 and you can also order a matching headband for some of the designs from her Etsy Store – I love this tattoo fabric one below.

Bristol-based artist Jane Vellender is making cotton face masks and selling them on Etsy for £8.50. She is delivering them to residents in Totterdown or sending them first class for free anywhere else in the country.

And have you seen these stunning designs by local designer Eileen Morris AKA I.c.r.8. clothes on Insta below? Prices start at £10 and there are loads of different designs to choose from as well as other clothing.

They’re not the cheapest on the list but just look at these lovely vibrant colours (feature image) that local designer Lottie Sparks is making. You can purchase one of her resuable masks for £12 and you can see the rest of her designs on her Facebook Page.

Jenny Ogg is offering Norwex reusable face masks from £9.99 and you can order them from her Jenny’s Healthy Haven group on Facebook.

I’ve not had chance to include every single local designer on here so If I’ve missed someone out please just give them a shout out in the comments with a link to their website/Facebook page or Etsy store.
