Tuesday tips & deals of the week

Me with my Yo! Sushi receipt

Welcome back to Tuesday tips and deals of the week where you can check out all the latest offers on eating, drinking and playing out in Bristol and beyond. I don’t eat out too often, but when I do, I think it tastes much better when you don’t pay full price! So yesterday I took Little Miss Diva and her friend to her favourite restaurant Yo! Sushi in Cabot Circus and I saved £25 on the food bill.

You can too – just sign up for a Tastecard two month membership for £1 and make sure you write the date in your diary when you need to cancel if you don’t want to be charged the full amount of £39.99 which it will take automatically if you don’t cancel. As well as money off at some of your favourite family restaurants like Pizza Hut, Prezzo and Frankie & Benny’s, you can also save money at a few independents like the Assilah Bistro in Totterdown and save up to half price on special days out with the kids too. Annoyingly, there doesn’t seem to be any attractions in Bristol that make the list! However, if you’re planning a trip to Blackpool Pleasure Beach, a London attraction or a theme park in the UK don’t pay full price until you’ve checked out the offers.

Another way to get money off eating out and the cinema is with a Gourmet Society card. I have a free lifetime membership to the Gourmet Society so I usually use this card to save up to 50% off eating out and the cinema – but check out both websites to see which places you are likely to eat out at as a family.

A bargain-lover’s dream…

Tuesday is a really good day for bargain lovers because you can treat yourself to cheap tacos, pizza, burgers and drinks.  You can get £1 tacos at any Wahaca every Tuesday and Thursday – Wahaca in Bristol is located at the top of Park St in the Clifton Triangle and it’s £1 for your first taco and £5.95 for any more.

Fancy a slice or two of pizza? You can get a pizza for just 1p when you buy another at Racks Bar and Kitchen located in the Clifton Hotel on St Paul’s Road. The offer is on all day every Tuesday and pizza prices start at just £8.50. I went there for my birthday last week – they have lunch deals for just £6 every day of the week and it’s also dog friendly.

On a Wednesday check out Southside’s burger and a drink deal for £11 or their Thursday offer of a pizza and a drink for £11. If you prefer the centre of town then did you know that The Crown in St Nicholas Market has a lunchtime deal every day of the week where you can pay a fiver and get a drink for just £1 extra. Or if you fancy a carb fix of burger and fries you can fill your boots at Three Brothers Burgers on Tuesday – or indeed any day of the week including weekends (check the website for times).

I’m sure there are lots more deals going on in Bristol and I’m hoping to add to the list every week. In the meantime, why don’t you let me know what local deals you love so that I can feature them in Tuesday tips next week? Don’t forget, Broke in Bristol – & beyond is on FacebookInstagram and Twitter, like or follow to the be the first to know about all the latest deals, discounts and days out.
