Things to do with kids this Easter (& places kids eat free)

Apr 3, 2023 | MAIN FEED, saving money, What's On Bristol

Here’s my round-up of free and affordable things to do in Bristol this Easter, with the odd treat thrown in for good measure.

The Sensational Sheep Trail takes over the Bristol Shopping Quarter this Easter until Saturday April 15, where there will be 31 fantastically decorated sheep hiding in the shops waiting for kids to discover them. Once you have completed the trail, go along to John Wesley’s New Room in Broadmead to pick up a small prize. The New Room is open Monday to Saturday, 10am – 4pm.

Friday Films at John Wesley’s New Room promises to keep children entertained with a Shaun the Sheep Movie running from 10.30am to 12.30pm. Or round off the trail with a viewing of Shaun the Sheep Farmageddon from 2 until 4pm which costs £4 per child per session and includes popcorn.

The Cave Art of Lascaux is an exciting new VR experience coming to Bristol Museum & Art Gallery. Visitors can step back in time 21,000 years and visit the incredible Stone Age cave art of Lascaux in immersive 3D – free entry but donations are welcome.

Good Family Friday at Propyard promises a day filled with art, food and tunes all day long. Tickets are free and there will be crafty workshops available, face painting and a bouncy castle.

East Street for eat: Bedminster on Saturday April 15 will showcase the very best of local food & drink with over 60 food and drink stalls.

Funderworld Theme Park is returning for its annual event on Durdham Downs, Bristol, and this year is set to be super special as the visit coincides with Easter, Eid and May Day Bank Holiday. Ticket prices start at £9.99.

Easter at the Grand Pier – An Easter-themed scavenger hunt runs from April 1 to April 16, with plenty of prizes, hair braiding and face painting from April 7th to April 12th and entry to the pier is £1.

Kids eat free or for £1

Kids eat for £1 from Friday March 31 until April 17 at Giraffe – Although there isn’t a Giraffe restaurant in Bristol, there is one in Bath. The offer includes one kid’s main, dessert and drink when an adult purchases a meal. Just use this code: 1250YK175E

Kids aged under 16 eat for free at any Morrisons when an adult spends £4.99. The kid’s meal includes a piece of fruit and Tropicana Kids Orange or an Apple drink or bottle of water.

Kids under 10 eat free at Yo Sushi! restaurants from Monday to Friday until  April 14 when one adult spends £10 on food.

Kids eat for £1 with every adult between 4pm and 6pm, Mondays to Thursdays at Bella Italia. Kids can enjoy three delicious courses and a Cawston Pressed Fruit Water for just £1.

Until Apr 16, 2023, bigger kids (up to age 16) across England and Wales can eat for just £1 at any time of day in Asda Cafés, seven days a week, with no minimum adult spend required.

At Bill’s in Clifton, you can feed the family for less this Easter as two kids can eat free all day Monday 3 April to Friday 14 April (excluding weekend 8-9 April), if one adult orders any main dish (breakfast, lunch, and dinner).
