Welcome back to Broke in Bristol – & beyond the blog that helps you save money, make money and invest in your future. I don’t know about you but I really fancy a takeaway tonight! Lockdown hasn’t exactly been good for the waistline, or the pocket, has it?

Anyone who knows me knows that I don’t like paying full price for anything, however I do like to support local businesses when I can. So imagine my excitement when I discovered a couple of local, independently run businesses on Just Eat. Not only that, but my favourite fish and chip shop Farrows is now listed – happy days!

If you haven’t yet signed up to Just Eat – you can get £15 off through Top Cashback so definitely use this option for your first order. However – and this is IMPORTANT – ordering through Just Eat is more expensive than usual as there is generally a mark up on the food and drink. So the next time you order – order directly from the business if you can.

If you love fish and chips as much as I do, you can order directly from Farrows by phoning 0117 908 5511 – it’s now open every night apart from Tuesday for takeaway and street delivery but it’s best to phone ahead for full details. And although traditionally there have been lots of chains listed on Just Eats – other local independents like Spice Indian Takeaway and Sunshine Cafe have jumped on board and are seeing the benefits of offering a local delivery service too.

What has been your favourite takeaway treat during lockdown? Please let the bargain-loving community know by leaving a comment  – Broke in Bristol – & beyond is on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. More from Broke in Bristol:
