This Saturday September 28 why don’t you try something a little bit different and take your pet pooch for a swim at Portishead Marina? There will be plenty of other families and their pets popping along to the PDSA’s Big Doggy Paddle which takes place annually to raise money to save pets and change lives.
Vet charity PDSA says there will be loads to keep families entertained including the chance to:
– Marvel at the specially trained Newfoundland rescue dogs as they dive in to save our fearless fundraisers from the water.
– Pamper your pooch, with a free five-point MOT from our vet nurse.
– Enjoy a spot of retail therapy for you and your furry friend.
– Keep the kids entertained with PDSA’s jelly belly – as they delve in to discover the unusual things its vets have removed from pet’s tummies.
Big Doggy Paddle is supported by the Beaverbrook Foundation, Newfound Friends charity and Quay Marinas. Avon Wildlife Trust and Holly Hedge Animal Sanctuary will also host stalls on the day. All funds raised from the event will help the charity treat more sick and injured animals at PDSA Bristol Pet Hospital and across its network of 48 UK pet hospitals.
