It’s Christmas! The houses that are all lit up for 2021

Dec 2, 2021 | Uncategorised

The lights at the Brailsford house in Brentry, Bristol.

When my daughter was a toddler, I used to love driving past the Brailsford house in Brentry. Now she’s a teenager I might just ‘accidentally’ drive past some next time she’s not out gallivanting with her friends.

I’ve double checked who is putting on a Christmas display this year so that you can get you and your family into the Christmas spirit. Have I missed any? Please leave a comment on the Facebook page if so.

Brentry

It’s back with a bang in Brentry – Bristol’s most famous house had its Christmas lights switched on this week (Dec 1) and will now be lit up every night from 5pm. All proceeds go to the Wallace and Gromit Grand Appeal and over the years the Brailsford brothers have raised over £75,000.

Almondsbury

This is the last year that you’ll be able to see the showstopping display at this house in Almondsbury. Graham and Sue Hawkes have raised more than £40,000 for charity since 2005 but they’re moving to Cornwall in the new year.

Where to? Cope Park, Almondsbury

Stockwood

Kids and adults alike will love the Penguin Party at the Garton Gaff in Stockwood which has reopened for 2021 and will be lit up from 4:30 to 9:30pm every day.

Where to? 7 Materman Road. Stockwood. BS14 8ST

Knowle

This Christmas house in Knowle put a smile on a lot of people’s faces last year and organiser John Miller is hoping to do the same again in 2021.

Where to? Kingshill Rd, Knowle.

Oldland Common

There are a couple of best dressed Christmas houses in Oldland Common including this one with its snowmen and reindeers made out of pallets.

Where to? Oldland Common, BS30 9PP

Staple Hill

Jake Skinner lights up his house every year in aid of Macmillan.

Where to? Crossfield Road, BS16 4SJ

Thornbury

The Thornbury display will be happening at the Jefferies house this year but there won’t be the usual launch event as organisers don’t want to encourage crowds of people. This Winter Wonderland will definitely put the family in the festive spirit.

Where to? Eastland Ave, Thornbury, BS35 1DU

Hollisters Drive, BS13

Every year organisers switch on the lights and raise money for Make a Wish and Wallace and Gromit grand appeal
