If you’ve woken up this morning with a heavy heart because you missed out on 50th anniversary Glastonbury tickets yesterday, then don’t despair – there is another way!
Apart from keeping everything crossed that you’ll be more lucky in April’s ticket resale, you could volunteer to help a worthy charity in return for a free ticket. Glastonbury supports over 750 local charities but the three main ones are Oxfam, WaterAid and Greenpeace. They are currently taking registrations for people who would like to volunteer in 2020, but you better get cracking as these get booked up quickly too. You can also try My Cause UK which represents a number of charities at various festivals throughout the year.
There’s usually a deposit to pay equivalent to the ticket price but you do get this back once you’ve turned up on time and completed all your shifts. It’s a great way to save money, while also helping a worthwhile cause and having the time of your life! These days I prefer to glamp, not camp so I’m all for luxury camping in style if money permits.
Have any of my followers volunteered at a festival before? I would love to hear your stories – share them on the Broke in Bristol Facebook page. Your local money saving blog is also on Twitter and Instagram – don’t forget to follow Broke in Bristol for all the latest local deals, discounts and free and affordable days out.
