Yesterday, the bakery chain opened 800 shops across the UK – five of them in Bristol in the city centre at Horsefair, Broadmead, Cabot Circus and also its Avonmeads branch.

If you’re not a fan of Greggs, don’t worry there are hundreds of other restaurants to choose from. Anyone who knows me knows that I don’t like paying full price for anything, however I do like to support local businesses when I can.
So imagine my excitement when I discovered a couple of local, independently run businesses on Just Eat during lockdown. Not only that, but my favourite fish and chip shop Farrows is now listed – happy days! However – and this is IMPORTANT – ordering through Just Eat is more expensive than usual as there is generally a mark up on the food and drink. So the next time you order – order directly from the business if you can.
And although traditionally there have been lots of chains listed on Just Eat – other local independents like Spice Indian Takeaway and Sunshine Cafe have jumped on board and are seeing the benefits of offering a local delivery service too.
