Can you have a cheap night out at a casino?

Welcome back to Broke in Bristol, the blog that helps you save money and live life to the full on a shoestring. It’s not often that I do go out these days, but when I do, I like to enjoy a night out on the town without breaking the bank. I’m not advocating gambling especially if you are broke, but if you set yourself a limit and stick to it a casino can be an enjoyable, alternative night out on the tiles.

Now that I’m the wrong side of 40 (just…) I’ve found that eating is definitely not cheating! Mr Spendthrift tucked into the Rib Eye Steak with Pepper Sauce (£21.90), which he gave 8 out of 10 (he thinks he’s a food critic I’m not sure what I’ve created here!). I opted for the more affordable Falafel & Spinach Burger (£6.95), which was just as tasty as were the moreish Raspberry Mojitos (a pitcher costs £23.00).

After our delicious meal, we decided to get stuck in and try our hand at the tables. It was great fun! We enjoyed learn to play tuition on the Black Jack and Roulette tables which made Mr Spendthrift feel like he was James Bond, until he realised I had a bigger stack of chips…

Next time I’ll be ditching Mr Spendthrift in favour of a Ladies Night which includes a glass of Gancia Prosecco or Sparkling Gancia Rose on arrival, a two-course meal and £10 free chance bet chips for £16.95 per person. There are packages for everyone. If your other half has a birthday coming up, why not treat them to The Celebration Package? For £25 per person, you’ll receive a free drink from the bar, a three-course meal from the set menu, learn to play tuition with a £5 gaming voucher, balloons and a birthday cake. If you book for 10 or more people, the organiser dines for free.

You can even visit the casino for breakfast and at just £1.50 for two rashes of bacon, one sausage, one egg, beans and tea or coffee, I reckon this could be the best value breakfast in Bristol! Or check out the Sunday lunch deal: two courses for £11.95 and two free bet chips worth up to £5 each.
