21 free & cheap things to do (with or without the kids) this week!

Aug 4, 2016 | Uncategorised

It’s Thursday which can only mean one thing – it’s time for our pick of free and cheap things to do in Bristol! Every week, we’ll be letting you know about all the free and cheap events going on, whether you’re young, free and single or looking for some family-friendly fun.

There are so many free and cheap events taking place this week that we’ve decided to list 21 of them on our What’s On page! You really can have heaps of fun in Bristol, without spending much money at all.

Come the weekend there’s loads to choose from, from Redfest in St George’s Park to the Bristol Sausage & Cider Festival at The Passenger Shed. There’s also a vintage fashion sale in St Philips, where you could bag yourself a bargain, and a glass roadshow in Arnos Vale. If you’re child-free, check out Thekla’s Summer Deck Party on Saturday which will only set you back a fiver. On Sunday, Fishponds Fayre takes over Eastville Park or head on over to Bedminster for Bedolympics which sounds like heaps of fun!

I’ll be taking Little Miss Diva into town and we’ll be visiting Storybox, which is a book festival for children and young adults at Foyles bookshop and the Moving Targets exhibition at the Arnolfini, which explores Bristol’s relationship with punk. We’re also going to hang out in Millennium Square and watch the Rio 2016 Olympics on the big screen and possibly take part in a couple of the free sporting activities. While we’re in town, we can visit the M-Shed and the Bristol Museum and Art Gallery for a small donation and as a treat I think I may take her to see a Roald Dahl film at the Watershed (£6.50 for adults, £4.50 for kids).

There are so many things to do that we can’t possibly do them all. However, you can check out our list of free and cheap things to do in and around Bristol this week on our What’s On page. Everything listed this week is either free or really cheap! Also check out our 25 things to do with the kids in Bristol this summer – they will have no excuse to be bored!

If you’re hosting a free or cheap local event, feel free to leave a comment on our Facebook Page and we’ll do our best to spread the word. Don’t forget to like our Facebook page, so that you can be the first to know about the best local events happening in and around Bristol. Have a good one!
