Spring is in the air which can only mean one thing – it’s almost car boot season. Most car boot sales open in April but some have opened their doors already. Here’s y lowdown of the best in the south west.
Clifton Car Boot
Apparantly, this one is famous and has even been featured on the BBC and in Marie Claire! It’s only £1 per car if you’re planning on popping along to pick up a bargain or £10 upwards if you’re thinking of selling on unwanted treasure. Open to visitors from 8:30am every Sunday, check out the Facebook page here.

Cheddar Car Boot
I picked up a couple of bargains at this car boot sale a couple of summers ago and because it’s a little bit out of the way I combined it with a camping trip to Petruth Paddocks – which I’d also highly recommend. The car boot sale takes place every Sunday from 6am ‘til 2pm and there’s an indoor market too. It’s £1 entry for visitors and £10 for a car if you’re selling (be warned it’s a lot more if you have a van!) and it’s open every week apart from Christmas. Check out their Facebook page here.

Lansdown Car Boot
If you think bigger is better when it comes to car boot sales, then you need to check out this one in Lansdown, Bath which is reopening this Sunday July 12. It’s so huge that it’s spread across two sites and there’s also a bouncy castle and ice cream van between April and October. It’s £1 per car, starts at 8:30am and is £10 per car if you’re selling. Find out more here.

Whitchurch Car Boot
This one starts again on Saturday July 11 at 10:30am for sellers and 11:15am for buyers. There are activities for the kids and it’s just £1 per car if you’re buying. Thinking of selling? Prices start from £10 for a car. Find out more here.

Easter Compton Car Boot
Combine your visit to a car boot with a trip to Washingpool Farm Shop. This event is popular because it’s great for sellers and buyers come rain or shine as it’s held both indoor and outdoors. It’s £1 per car for visitors and just £8 if you’re selling. Full details here.

Bristol Sunday Market & Car Boot
I love this Sunday market and car boot which is right on my doorstep! It’s free to have a look around and £10 for sellers in cars, £15 for those in vans. Open to sellers from 7am and buyers from 9 til 3pm. More info here.
