
It’s nearly May half-term which means it’s time for my post on free and affordable things to do with the kids in Bristol. Highlights this half-term include Queen’s Jubilee street parties and a free dog show to raise money for Bristol Animal Rescue Centre – you know where me and my rescue pup will be!

Free things to do with the family this May half term in Bristol:
Adventure playgrounds – St Paul’s Adventure Playground is open from 1 to 5pm during the holidays with free activities for familes. Also check out Southmead, Felix and the Vench adventure playgrounds for more things to do. FREE
Arnolfini – We are family: Families can enjoy collage, drawing and painting for this half term on May 31 and June 1 from 11 til 4pm. FREE.
Blaise Estate – Family holiday fun: wildlife at Blaise on June 1. There’ll be nature crafts, storytelling and plenty of activities to enjoy – entry if free but booking is advised.
Bristol Cathedral – Crafty Jubilee: Come and stick, glue, make and create. Crafts will be jubilee themed as we approach HM The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. FREE (Jun 1)

Bristol Old Vic – Birthday family day: Bristol Old Vic turns 256 on Monday 30 May, and to celebrate they’re throwing open the doors and inviting you and your family for a fun, free, inclusive Family Day. FREE on May 30.
College Green – The Big Jubillee Lunch: Bristol Cathedral and partners are delighted to announce a Big Jubilee Lunch on College Green to celebrate The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. FREE – Sunday 5 June
RWA – Scribble and sketch: Join the Scribble and Sketch artists at locations across the city on Saturdays once a month for free family workshops. FREE (June 4)
The Ostrich – Scuffs Dog Show: Join The Ostrich as they host their first Dog Show, Scuffs! Raising money for Bristol Animal Rescue Centre. Free entry – Sunday June 5 from 12 til 6pm.
Upfest – Bedminster. Absolutely loads going on this weekend for all the family to enjoy and the weather is playing ball too! For the first year the festival will take over Greville Smyth Park as its main venue with music and live painting across the weekend.
Hartcliffe Community Centre: Queens Platinum Jubilee Family Fun Day. This is taking place on Friday June 3 with loads of things for all the family to enjoy.
