Welcome back to Broke in Bristol – the blog that helps you save money, make money and live life to the full on a budget. I’m Ms Broke in Bristol and I’ve got 10 tips that will save you money this week!
Free pain consultation!
Mr Spendthrift is always complaining about his bad back so I’ll be telling him about this fab offer. The lovely people at the Bristol Back Pain Clinic are offering Broke in Bristol readers a free assessment and diagnosis worth £45 until the end of this month (Oct 2016). So if you suffer from headaches, migraines, shoulder and arm pain, hip and knee pain, Osteoarthritis or pain associated with pregnancy and childcare, give them a call on 0117 972 3518. The first 25 people to call will receive a free consultation, just quote Broke in Bristol. You can also check out an interesting article on how to remove stretch marks after pregnancy.
Now this is my kinda deal! Cheer yourself up this autumn with a meal out at No4 Clifton Village on a Thursday evening where you can enjoy unlimited Prosecco for one when you order two courses for £22. Book in advance if you want to guarantee a table.
Cheap Christmas travel
Just a reminder that you need to book your rail travel now if you don’t want to pay through the nose! Don’t forget to check the Megatrain website and Virgin’s Best Fare Finder tool. Of course you could always get the bus, but the last time I did that it took me nine hours to get from Bristol to Manchester, so it’s not something I’ll be doing again!
Baby photoshoot with prints from £10
Local photographer Louise Fullbrook has teamed up with Groupon to offer a newborn photoshoot or bump to baby photoshoot with prints and cards from just £10. Louise is based in BS4 and comes highly recommended. Guys, if you have been wondering what to get your expectant t’other half for Christmas, this could be the one!
Steak and frites for two for £15
Impress your other half with this meal deal next time it’s date night! For £15, two people can enjoy steak and frites and a glass of wine at any Café Rouge before 14 November.
£11 worth of free food & free delivery
I don’t mind admitting that when it comes to the online food shop, I’m a bit of a tart! I’ll shop with whoever is offering me the best deal that week, which means that I’m now finally going to try Ocado! For £29, I get £40 to spend on food as well as three months’ free deliveries. It’s not one of the cheaper supermarkets though, so I have yet to discover whether this will be a one-night-stand or something deeper…
Now TV box
My bargain of the week has to be my Now TV box from Asda Bedminster. During autumn and winter I love nothing more than watching TV in bed so this smart box with two months’ Sky cinema pass is my early Christmas present to myself! At just £15, it’s a bargain too!
10 dresses for £10 or less
Very’s autumn sale is definitely worth a look! It’s offering 10 dresses for £10 or less until 5 October (hurry, hurry, sorry the blog is out later than expected!) and up to 50% off fashion and footwear until 24 October. Some of the dresses look slightly summery, but team them with tights and boots and you’re set for autumn.
Free Family Travel Guide
The paperback version retails at £9.99, but you can pick up this online guide for free. Packed full of tips on how to get the best holiday deals at home or abroad, this is the kind of holiday read you need to delve into before you leave the house.
Free Christmas Recipe Book
This freebie caught my eye because Little Miss Diva recently tried vegetarianism and has now decided to eat meat on weekends. The Vegetarian Society is offering free Christmas recipe books to help you feed the family during the festive period. Winner winner, veggie dinner!
